La Nueva Ola de Cumbia, Xavi, Pututi & Nesty, Erick Brian, Tito Double P, Wisin and Ivy Queen took the stage in Miami on Tuesday. The show goes live Thursday on Telemundo and Peacock.
If Monday was the warm-up, Tuesday sounded like the main event. Reggaeton royalty, regional Mexican’s biggest new names and Cuban reparto all shared one stage at the James L. Knight Center in Miami.
On Tuesday (Oct. 20), La Nueva Ola de Cumbia, Xavi, Pututi & Nesty, Erick Brian, Tito Double P, Wisin and Ivy Queen rehearsed their performances for the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards. The ceremony airs live this Thursday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on Telemundo and Peacock.
Two names in Tuesday’s lineup weren’t in the earlier performer announcements. Wisin, one half of reggaeton’s Wisin & Yandel, and Ivy Queen, known as the queen of reggaeton, will share the stage, according to Telemundo and NBCUniversal. Earlier this year, Ivy Queen was also honored as a pioneer at Billboard Women in Latin Music.
Who else rehearsed? Tito Double P, the second most-nominated artist of the year with 15 finalist nods, is also in the race for the new fan-voted Fan Artist award. Xavi, a finalist for Regional Mexican Song of the Year, and La Nueva Ola de Cumbia are among the acts Telemundo is billing as television debuts, along with Tito Double P, Wisin and Ivy Queen. Erick Brian and Pututi & Nesty will deliver the show’s first-ever performances of reparto, the Cuban urban genre that has spread from Havana’s streets to Miami.
The full night includes a tribute to Juan Gabriel on the 10th anniversary of his death, performed by Carlos Rivera, Jessi Uribe, Pablo Alborán, Paola Jara and Yahritza y Su Esencia. Cristian Castro will share the stage with Ha*Ash, and Fuerza Regida with Chuyin.
Four special honorees will be celebrated: Rosalía (Billboard Hall of Fame), Rubén Blades (Billboard Icon Award), Cristian Castro (Lifetime Achievement Award) and Fuerza Regida (Billboard Vanguard Award). And for the first time, fans will pick a winner: voting for Fan Artist closes Thursday at about 7 p.m. ET.
Carmen Villalobos and Javier Poza host the ceremony, which the organizers call the longest-running and most prestigious awards show in Latin music. It airs live on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. Central) on Telemundo and Peacock, with live blue carpet coverage from 7 p.m. ET. It also airs on Universo and the Telemundo app, and across Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
Two days of rehearsals, one night left. See you on Thursday.
