The Temper Trap have scored the No. 1 Australian record on this week’s ARIA charts with their fourth studio album, Sungazer.
The Melbourne-formed band’s comeback release debuted at the top spot on the Australian Albums list while also breaking into the top ten on the main Albums chart at No. 9. This marks the group’s fourth album to reach the main top ten, following 2009’s Conditions (No. 9), 2012’s self-titled The Temper Trap (No. 1), and 2016’s Thick as Thieves (No. 1).
On the overall Albums chart, Olivia Rodrigo reclaimed the No. 1 position with you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love for a fourth non-consecutive week. The Rolling Stones entered right behind her at No. 2 with their latest studio album, Foreign Tongues.
Other notable album debuts this week include the Heated Rivalry soundtrack at No. 3, Bring Me The Horizon’s Count Your Blessings Repented at No. 5, Jack White’s Frozen Charlotte at No. 17, and The Velvet Club’s Are You Falling in Love? at No. 29.
Over on the Singles chart, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” held onto the No. 1 position for a sixth consecutive week. Meanwhile, Josh Fawaz’s “Like a Prayer” remix held at No. 3 on the Australian Artist Singles chart on the same day the DJ faced widespread criticism after adding AI credits to the track.
