Justin Bieber’s acoustic halftime performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday afternoon may have surprised some viewers, but the unexpected song selection is delivering massive results on streaming platforms.
After an introduction by Jason Sudeikis appearing in character as Ted Lasso, Bieber took the stage with just an acoustic guitar to perform “Everything Hallelujah,” a track originally released in 2025 on his album Swag II.
Streaming Numbers Skyrocket
Despite online debate from viewers who expected high-energy pop classics like “Baby” or recent hits like “Yukon,” the stripped-back moment drove an immediate wave of curiosity. According to Spotify data shared with Rolling Stone, global streams for “Everything Hallelujah” surged by 240 percent following the broadcast.
The performance also triggered a massive search wave online, with queries like “Justin Bieber song hallelujah” and “Justin Bieber hallelujah song” quickly becoming the top two trending search terms under the artist’s name on Google Trends.
Following the Coachella Trend
This post-event bump mirrors Bieber’s performance trajectory from earlier in the year. Following his headlining set at Coachella 2026, Bieber hit his biggest Spotify streaming day of the year at that point on April 12 with 24.6 million streams, ultimately accumulating 140 million listeners in the weeks following the festival.
