Spotify is continuing its push into personalized audio experiences by expanding its AI-powered DJ feature to more than 75 markets worldwide while introducing support for four additional languages.
The streaming giant announced that users can now access the feature in French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese, marking the latest evolution of Spotify’s AI-driven listening tools since the DJ launched in beta form in 2023.
Designed to function like a personalized radio host, Spotify’s AI DJ combines music recommendations with spoken commentary tailored to individual listening habits. The feature blends frequently played favorites with rediscovered tracks and newer releases, creating a continuously evolving listening experience shaped by user behavior.
According to Spotify, the feature has already attracted tens of millions of Premium subscribers globally, becoming one of the platform’s most recognizable AI integrations. The company says the DJ is intended to make music discovery feel more conversational and interactive compared to traditional algorithmic playlists.
The newest expansion introduces the AI DJ to countries including Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, Austria and Switzerland, among others.
To better reflect regional audiences and cultural differences, Spotify has also created unique DJ personalities for each language offering. The company says each voice was developed with its own style and tone, helping the feature feel more localized and natural for listeners in different parts of the world.
Another major component of the tool is its interactive request system, which allows users to influence the vibe of a listening session in real time. Subscribers can ask the DJ to shift toward high-energy music for workouts or parties, or transition into calmer selections for more relaxed listening.
