Oasis will chronicle its long-awaited reunion tour in a new feature-length documentary set for theatrical release on Sept. 11 before streaming exclusively on Disney+ internationally, and on Hulu in the United States later this year.
The currently untitled film, announced by Disney, Sony Music Vision and magna studios, captures the band’s Oasis Live reunion tour, which marked the first time brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher performed together following their split in 2009.
The band’s 2025 reunion tour spanned the United Kingdom, Europe, North and South America, and Asia, with sold-out stadium shows including Wembley Stadium in London. Classic hits including “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Wonderwall” returned to global stadium stages at long last. In contrast to years of public conflict, the brothers displayed a notable warmer dynamic, including onstage embraces and moments of banter.
The documentary will include rehearsal, backstage and live performance footage from the global tour, as well as the first joint interview between the Gallagher brothers in more than 25 years.
Directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, and created by writer and producer Steven Knight, the film is being positioned as both a concert documentary and a portrait of reconciliation between the famously estranged siblings.
“I genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film,” Knight said in a statement. “I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever.”
Knight added that the film explores how music “can unite generations, cultures, countries” and offer “some reason to hope” during periods of division.
The film’s release strategy follows a growing trend in music documentaries that blend theatrical distribution with streaming platforms. The approach mirrors Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concert film, which earned more than $260 million at the global box office before moving to streaming, as well as other high-profile music documentaries that have expanded from cinemas to digital platforms.
The Oasis film will be shown on select IMAX screens and other cinemas worldwide before moving exclusively to Disney+ internationally, with Hulu handling U.S. streaming rights.
Disney executive Eric Schrier described the project as a story of “reconciliation, the power of music, and Oasis, one of the most successful and influential acts of all time.”
Further details are expected to be announced ahead of the film’s release later this year.
