This October, Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer Hans Zimmer is bringing his brand new live show to arenas throughout Australia.
“Hans Zimmer Live – The Next Level” is expected to feature orchestral arrangements in combination with electronic sound design and immersive staging, amounting to a large-scale live spectacle.
The performance will be backed by a 19-piece band and a roster of vocalists, including Australian singer Lisa Gerrard.
“I want fans to feel like they’re at a rave party or riding a roller coaster,” Zimmer said, discussing how the production aims to push expectations of a traditional concert experience.
“For me, every show is a new voyage of discovery,” he added. “The greatest challenge is the status quo— you have to do everything in your power to leave it behind and find and create something new.”
“The Next Level” began touring earlier this year with a sold-out European run of 50 arena shows across 17 countries, drawing more than 600,000 fans.
Zimmer has composed some of the most recognisable music in modern cinema, featuring scores for films such as “Gladiator,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “The Dark Knight,” “Interstellar,” “The Lion King” and “Dune.”
Over his career, the German composer has scored more than 500 projects, contributing to films that have grossed more than $28 billion worldwide.
The Australian leg of the tour will kick off at Perth’s RAC Arena on Oct. 12.
Ticket sales will begin with a Frontier members presale at 1 p.m. local time Tuesday, June 2, followed by a general sale at 2 p.m. local time Wednesday, June 3. Complete tour and ticket information is available on the Frontier website.
