The podcast host’s Oct. 8 update lets you fix a misspelled name once and have it corrected everywhere, including in future episodes.
If you host a music podcast, you know the pain: the transcript spells your guest’s name three different ways, and the band’s name a fourth. Buzzsprout’s latest update is aimed exactly at that.
On Oct. 8, the podcast hosting platform rolled out a set of transcript editor improvements built around one idea: you shouldn’t have to fix the same mistake twice.
What’s new? Autocorrect now lets you fix a word once and updates the remaining matches in the transcript. It can also remember the correction for future episodes, which is useful when the same names, artists or places come up every week. Autosave keeps changes saving in the background, so you don’t have to stop and hit save.
Editing is faster as well, thanks to keyboard shortcuts, double-click selection and Find & Replace, which speed up the most common fixes. The layout is cleaner, with a tidier toolbar, chapter markers and better navigation inside the editor. To try it, open any episode that has a Buzzsprout transcript and click Edit.

The update builds on last year’s upgraded editor, which added full-screen mode, voice previews for naming speakers, play and pause on the space bar, and TXT, SRT and VTT exports. Since March, all new Buzzsprout plans have included automatic podcast transcripts. And the updates keep coming: on Oct. 9, Buzzsprout expanded its API so that developers, apps and AI tools can edit transcripts, upload episodes and manage directory listings, and on Oct. 13 it added dark mode, transcript editor included.
More and more artists, labels and music journalists run podcasts, and a clean transcript does more work than it seems. Buzzsprout says transcripts help with search and make episodes more accessible to all listeners. They are also the fastest way to turn an interview into quotes, captions and social posts. The platform’s own help guide suggests spending 15 minutes or less on editing. With autocorrect, that goal finally sounds realistic.
Fix a name once, and it stays fixed. If only the rest of podcasting worked that way.
