Peso Pluma, Tito Double P, Fuerza Regida, KAROL G and Prince Royce are up for the new Fan Artist award. Fans can vote up to 20 times a day until just before the show.
Billboard awards usually work like math: streams, sales and airplay go in, trophies come out. Fans only influence the result indirectly, through what they play. This year, for one award, they get to decide directly.
The 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards are introducing a new honor, Fan Artist (Artista de los Fans), the first award in the show’s history chosen by a public vote. The winner will be announced live during the ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on Telemundo and Peacock.
The five contenders are the five artists with the most finalist nods this year, so they are all already the year’s chart leaders. Peso Pluma leads with 17 finalist nods, including Artist of the Year and Hot Latin Song of the Year, followed by Tito Double P with 15, including Artist of the Year and Global 200 Latin Song of the Year. Fuerza Regida has 12, including Artist of the Year and Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year; KAROL G has nine, including Artist of the Year and Tour of the Year; and Prince Royce has eight, including Tropical Artist of the Year, Solo, and Tropical Song of the Year. It is a very Mexican race, with three of the five coming from regional Mexican music, though KAROL G’s fan base and Prince Royce’s bachata loyalists could easily swing the result.
Voting takes place at Telemundo.com/vota. Fans can cast up to 10 votes a day with a Google account and another 10 with an NBCUniversal profile, for up to 20 votes a day in total. It is free and open to people 13 and older who live in the U.S., the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico, under the official rules. The deadline is Thursday, Oct. 22, at about 7 p.m. ET, an hour before the show starts. The artist with the most valid votes becomes the first Fan Artist winner in the awards’ history.
Carmen Villalobos and Javier Poza host the ceremony live from the James L. Knight Center in Miami at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. Central) on Telemundo and Peacock, with live blue carpet coverage from 7 p.m. ET. The show also airs on Universo and the Telemundo app, and across Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional. The awards close Billboard Latin Music Week, which runs in Miami from Oct. 19 to 22.
Until now, fans voted with their streams. On Thursday, they finally get a ballot.
