The company faces two charges of misleading Croke Park concertgoers. The judge called the case complex, and Ticketmaster wants an expert report first.
The Gallagher brothers have made up, toured and gone home. The fight over how their tickets were sold is still going.
Ticketmaster’s trial in Dublin over “platinum” tickets for Oasis’ 2025 reunion concerts at Croke Park has been delayed into next year, The Irish Times reports. The four-day hearing was originally expected in December. On Monday (Oct. 5), Judge Anthony Halpin said it would have to move into the new year after Ticketmaster’s counsel, Brian Gageby, told the court the company needed to obtain an expert report.

The case comes from an investigation by Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC). Ticketline Unlimited Company, trading as Ticketmaster, faces two charges under the Consumer Protection Act 2007 over tickets sold on Aug. 31, 2024. The first alleges that platinum tickets were offered in a way likely to mislead consumers about what they were actually buying. The second alleges that information about ticket prices was unclear, ambiguous or came too late.
Platinum tickets are some of the most in-demand seats, sold at a price set by the organizer. Ticketmaster intends to fight the charges. Its defense told the court last month that it expects the matter to be fully contested, and it plans to call around a dozen witnesses.

If you were one of the fans refreshing a queue that Saturday in 2024, you remember why this case exists. The Oasis sale turned into a public argument about how live music is priced, and it drew regulators’ attention in both Ireland and the U.K. Now an Irish court will decide whether one part of that sale broke consumer law. The judge called it a complex case and asked both sides to have their witnesses ready. A new trial date will be set when the case returns to court on Nov. 9.
The band said “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Ticketmaster’s lawyers would probably prefer fans didn’t look back at all.
