Nothing, the consumer tech brand behind a series of smartphones and ChatGPT-integrated over-ear headphones, has announced Charli XCX as its latest investor and first Global Brand Ambassador.
A post on Nothing’s socials showed Charli wearing a pair of the brand’s (a) over-ear headphones and ear (3) earbuds, and holding a (4a) pro smartphone.
“This isn’t a traditional endorsement deal,” the brand wrote. “Charli is investing in Nothing and helping shape what we build from here. The campaign today is just the start. Charli is the first of more to come.”
As a testament to its product durability, Nothing says Charli XCX stayed in a room for five days straight to test the battery of its Headphone (a) model.“[The battery] lasted the whole time,” the brand shared.
“Charli XCX has spent her entire career rejecting the obvious path, and that’s exactly what Nothing’s philosophy is too,” added Nothing’s Chief Brand Officer Charlie Smith. “Charli is the perfect creative partner to build the future of tech and culture.”
“When I’m creating, I’m always thinking about how my work will be experienced out in the world and I love how Nothing headphones sound and are designed,” Charli XCX said in a statement. “Its ethos of prioritising creatives is really something I look for when working with a partner.”
“I’ve always just wanted to do things on my own terms, and that’s exactly what [Nothing is] doing, making stuff with personality that doesn’t look or feel like anything else,” she added. “A creative partnership and becoming a shareholder just felt like a natural extension of that.”
“I’ve been a fan of Charli’s work for years, and what struck me when we started talking was how much we agreed on,” shared Nothing co-founder and CEO Carl Pei.
“The tech industry has spent a decade making everything quieter, more minimal, more monotonous. Charli has spent her career going the other way in pop. We want Nothing to feel more like that.”
Other music artists that have invested in Nothing include Spotify-stats leader The Weeknd, and DJ trio Swedish House Mafia.
In a 2025 MusicTech product review of the Nothing (1) headphones, the magazine praised the product’s long-lasting battery life and its unique look, giving the headphones a 7 out of 10 rating.
