DAO Music Entertainment, a Vietnam-based music company, has formed a partnership with The Orchard, the Sony Music Entertainment-owned distribution and artist services company.
According to a press release, the agreement gives DAO Music Entertainment access to The Orchard’s global distribution network and resources, aimed at broadening the international reach of Vietnamese music.
Founded in 2020 by CEO Chien Dao, DAO Music Entertainment is based in Ho Chi Minh City.
The company describes itself as a Vietnam-focused music ecosystem with three labels and integrated services spanning production, artist development, marketing, digital and physical distribution and publishing.
“We are excited about our partnership with The Orchard and look forward to bringing Vietnamese music to the world together,” said Chien Dao, CEO and Founder of DAO Music Entertainment.
“DAO was built as a complete music ecosystem to develop the next generation of Vietnamese artists and music companies and strengthen the connection between Vietnam and the global music business.
“Leveraging The Orchard‘s global footprint gives us the expertise and network to accelerate that mission.”
DAO Music Entertainment calls itself “Vietnam’s leading music ecosystem,” providing what it describes as full-service solutions for artists and labels across the music value chain.
The label’s roster features Vietnamese artists including Dương Domic, who reached No. 1 on the first Official Vietnam Chart in January 2025 after IFPI launched regional charts across Southeast Asia, along with Juky San, Ánh Sáng AZA and others.
“We are excited about our partnership with The Orchard and look forward to bringing Vietnamese music to the world together,” said Chien Dao, CEO and Founder of DAO Music Entertainment.
Led by CEO Brad Navin, The Orchard operates in more than 50 cities and serves more than 26,000 independent labels worldwide.
Founded in 1997 and headquartered in New York, The Orchard became a wholly owned Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary after a $200 million acquisition in 2015.
The agreement comes as The Orchard continues to expand, recently acquiring Brazil’s OniMusic, entering a global distribution partnership with Japan’s Avex Music Group, and naming Heather Vassar senior vice president to head its Nashville division.
Vietnam’s music market has drawn increasing interest from global music companies in recent years, including Sony Music, Primary Wave Music and Virgin Music Group, which have all expanded partnerships or investments in Vietnam since 2024.
