Live Nation
Spotify is expanding its role in the live music world with the launch of Reserved, a new ticketing initiative created in partnership with Live Nation and powered by Ticketmaster. The program is designed to reward an artist’s most engaged listeners by giving them early access to concert tickets before they become widely available.
The new offering allows select Spotify Premium subscribers in the U.S. to purchase up to two tickets during an exclusive presale window. Eligibility is determined through a combination of listening activity and fan engagement metrics, including streams, saves, shares and geographic location.
Rather than relying on traditional fan club memberships or artist-specific presales, Reserved uses Spotify’s data to identify listeners who consistently engage with an artist’s music. Those selected will receive notifications through the Spotify app, email and push alerts when tickets become available.
Singer-songwriter Role Model is the first artist to participate in the program, with additional tours expected in the coming months.
Once notified, eligible fans can access a dedicated purchasing window and choose from available dates across a participating tour. Ticket purchases are completed through Ticketmaster, where users may be asked to link their Spotify and Ticketmaster accounts to verify eligibility.
The initiative is intended to strengthen the connection between artists and their most loyal audiences while providing fans with a more direct path to tickets. The company has also built flexibility into the system, allowing users to select from multiple tour dates rather than limiting access to a single local show.
Any tickets that remain unclaimed after a presale period closes will be redistributed to additional eligible listeners, creating further opportunities for fans to gain access.
