There is a new way to evaluate music from anonymous creators. AI Slop FM is a 24/7 radio station that allows listeners to rank music using an S-to-E tier system, describe how each track makes them feel, and leave comments. A cool feature in the serve listeners can drag their finger along the song as it plays: above the centre line is adore, below is abhor. Highlighting which portions of the song the listener likes or dislikes.
Creator Mike Chaffin runs the project single-handedly from Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, Wales. When explaining his intention behind building the station, he stated, “I like dislike. Art isn’t what you like, without things that you equally dislike.”
There is also a community chat called the Lounge, where listeners can share their thoughts. Listeners are not given any information about the artist or whether artificial intelligence was involved in creating the track. This allows each piece of music to be judged independently, without that information influencing their opinions.
Creators can submit music free of charge by providing a Suno or Udio link or uploading an audio file directly. Feedback is then shared anonymously with the creators behind the tracks. This gives artists a fair opportunity to receive recognition, regardless of how their music was produced.
