The 2027 run honors the diamond-certified debut Yourself or Someone Like You, with The Wallflowers, David Gray, The All-American Rejects, O.A.R. and more joining along the way. Tickets go on sale Oct. 23.
If you can still sing every word of “3AM” without looking up the lyrics, this one’s for you.
Matchbox Twenty announced their 30th Anniversary Tour on Tuesday (Oct. 13): 52 headline dates across North America in 2027, celebrating three decades since their debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You. The run starts May 15 at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham, Alabama, and ends Aug. 12 at the Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Before all that, the band also plays Stagecoach in Indio, California, on April 25. Tickets for that one are already on sale.
The tour rotates its special guests by leg. The All-American Rejects come aboard May 15–20, The Wallflowers take over May 22 through July 3, and The Lucky join for June 8–11 alongside The Wallflowers. David Gray then steps in July 7 through Aug. 1, followed by O.A.R. Aug. 4–8 and Matt Nathanson Aug. 11–12.
Among the dates to circle are Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on May 18, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., on May 22, the Hollywood Bowl on June 9, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on June 11, Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fla., on June 30, Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., on July 18, and RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto on July 21.
The full routing also takes in Charlotte, Salt Lake City, Vancouver, Phoenix, Austin, Houston, Dallas, St. Louis, Tampa, Philadelphia and Milwaukee, plus the Seattle, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and Detroit areas.
Here’s how to get tickets. The Reserved by Spotify presale opens first on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. local time, available to eligible Spotify Premium top fans at participating Ticketmaster venues. The artist presale follows later that same day, beginning at 5 p.m. local time through the band’s official tour site, with registration required.
The general on-sale then starts Friday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. local time.
The band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995, and today’s lineup is Rob Thomas, Kyle Cook, Brian Yale and Paul Doucette. A year after they started, Yourself or Someone Like You gave us “Push,” “3AM,” “Real World,” “Back 2 Good” and “Long Day,” and it went on to be certified diamond, at 12-times platinum. Today, the band has sold more than 40 million records worldwide.
“We’ve gotten to do this together for 30 years, and we still love it as much as we did when this band started,” the band wrote on Instagram on Oct. 1, adding that “there’s so much more on the way.”
There are already a few hints. In February, Matchbox Twenty released a five-track EP of B-sides from their 2012 album North. “Truth is, we almost made a double album but our label wasn’t keen on it for so many logistical reasons,” Thomas said at the time. The band is also heading back to Australia in 2027, and Thomas has said they are discussing a possible Broadway residency.
Thirty years, 52 summer nights and the promise of “so much more.” For now, the summer will do just fine.
