The 2026 BET Awards celebrated excellence across music, film, television and sports, with Teyana Taylor and Clipse emerging as the evening’s biggest winners during a ceremony that highlighted both established icons and a new generation of talent.
Taylor enjoyed one of the most memorable nights of her career, collecting three competitive awards. She was recognized as Best Actress, earned Video Director of the Year for her visual work under the name “Spike-Tey” and became the inaugural recipient of the Fashion Vanguard Award. She also accepted the prestigious Icon of the Year honor, capping off a remarkable year in which her artistic achievements have extended far beyond music.
Hip-hop duo Clipse matched Taylor’s three-win haul, taking home Album of the Year for “Let God Sort ‘Em Out,” Best Group and Best Collaboration for “Chains & Whips,” featuring Kendrick Lamar. Lamar also secured Best Male Hip Hop Artist, extending his record as one of the most established artists in that category’s history.
Kehlani claimed two major victories, winning Best Female R&B/Pop Artist for the first time and Video of the Year for “Folded,” while Leon Thomas earned his first BET Award as Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. Cardi B was named Best Female Hip Hop Artist, adding another trophy to her growing collection, and Olivia Dean continued her breakout run by taking home Best New Artist.
Several fan-favorite records also found success throughout the night. Mariah the Scientist’s “Burning Blue” won the Viewers’ Choice Award, while Doechii and SZA’s empowering collaboration “girl, get up.” captured the BET Her Award. In the gospel category, Lecrae, Killer Mike and T.I. were recognized for “Headphones.”
Beyond music, the ceremony celebrated achievements across the entertainment industry. Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” was awarded Best Movie, with Michael B. Jordan earning Best Actor for his leading performance. Taylor completed the acting categories with her Best Actress victory.
Special honors added another layer to the evening. Ms. Lauryn Hill received the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award, veteran music executive Sylvia Rhone accepted the Ultimate Icon Award and rising interviewer Jazzy’s World TV was named this year’s YoungStars Award recipient.
