A Modern Take
Love was in the air on September 5 when young artist Martin Beltrán released his new single, a version of the much-covered “Para Impresionarte,” to all streaming services.
Timeless Love
The song falls on the more romantic side of the recent resurgence in the popularity of regional Mexican genres like corridos, a sincere theme about love, inspiration, and how far we would be willing to go, even to the most insane and stupid-looking lengths, to win over our crush, lover, or situationship. In Spanish, Beltrán sings the classic lyrics written by Espinoza Paz later made into their famous form by El Coyote, “I’m your admirer and crazy fanatic … The one who says that he knows it all to impress you, so you notice me. The one who said to have family last names, but can’t even invite you to go out on a date. To impress you I’ve done a thousand things, to impress you I’ve done so much mischief.”

On the Rise
Many of Beltrán’s songs in the past year have yielded success for the young artist and his label, DEL Records. He has received attention on streaming platforms for songs like “Risa y Risa,” “Prodigio,” “Juntitos,” and “Secret.” His most recent cover is a modern take showing his appreciation for the classics in his genre as he rises in the industry.
