Los Angeles, California (July 22, 2025)- Global music icon Gloria Estefan will headline the main concert of Hispanidad 2025, a landmark cultural celebration set to take place on October 5 in the heart of Madrid. The free concert, expected to draw thousands, will be held at the newly selected and iconic Plaza de Colón and is part of the official Hispanic Heritage Day festivities organized by the Community of Madrid.
Estefan, whose career spans five decades, will perform a dynamic setlist that includes classics such as “Mi Tierra,” “Conga,” and “Hoy,” alongside tracks from her latest critically acclaimed album, Raíces, released in May. The concert will celebrate not only her unparalleled legacy but also the rich cultural threads that connect Spanish-speaking communities around the world.
“Raíces,” produced by her longtime collaborator and husband Emilio Estefan, was recorded at Crescent Moon Studios in Miami. The album fuses traditional Latin rhythms like salsa with a modern sonic palette, creating a bridge between generations. Its title track, “Raíces,” has been praised for its heartfelt message centered on identity, resilience, and cultural continuity.
“Raíces speaks to how love and life are like sowing seeds: what you nurture with faith, patience, and dedication will eventually bear fruit,” Estefan shared.
The concert is especially meaningful as it marks the 50th anniversary of Estefan’s illustrious music career — a journey that has included over 100 million records sold, multiple Grammy Awards, and a legacy as a trailblazer for Latin artists on the world stage.
“It’s a true honor to share such a meaningful milestone in a city that has always embraced Latin culture so warmly,” Estefan said. “Madrid holds a very special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to celebrate our roots together.”
From her groundbreaking days with Miami Sound Machine to becoming a cultural ambassador and international superstar, Estefan’s influence has been instrumental in shaping the sound and scope of Latin music worldwide. Her presence at Hispanidad 2025 transforms the annual celebration into a historic musical event.
The event is made possible thanks to the continued support of the Community of Madrid, whose dedication to cultural diversity and inclusion is reflected in this year’s theme: “All accents belong in Madrid.”
