Genre blending English singer, songwriter, and producer James Blake has officially announced a highly anticipated return to Australia for a series of major live performances. Scheduled to kick off at the beginning of December, the upcoming concert run will see the celebrated artist bring his expansive live show to premium venues in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
The newly announced tour serves to support his seventh studio album, Trying Times, which represents his first ever self released record. The album achieved widespread commercial success upon its global release, securing a number three spot on the UK charts and a number seven position in Germany, while comfortably landing inside the top forty album charts across both Australia and New Zealand. The fresh material has garnered praise from major music publications, with critics highlighting its honest themes of love and existential dread alongside creative stylistic shifts that incorporate samples from Dusty Springfield and Dizzee Rascal.
The tour marks another milestone for the musician, whose impressive catalog has accumulated over two point two billion streams worldwide. The upcoming live run officially begins on Tuesday, December 1 at the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane. From there, Blake will head to Sydney on Wednesday, December 2 for a spectacular outdoor performance at On the Steps at the Sydney Opera House, before concluding the announced dates on Saturday, December 5 at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne.
General public ticket sales open on Friday, June 26 at 10 am local time. Ahead of the general window, eager fans can access multiple early booking opportunities. Both the dedicated artist pre sale and the partner pre sale launch on Wednesday, June 24 at 10 am local time, followed by a Secret Sounds promoter pre sale on Thursday, June 25 at 10 am local time.
