On April 24, TikTok announced that, over the last twelve months, its music discovery feature “Add to Music App” has been used to save more than 6 billion tracks to music streaming services.
As the feature was rolled out worldwide in 2024, TikTok users saw an “Add Song” button next to a track name at the bottom of a TikTok video in the “For You” feed. This feature helps to streamline music discovery, allowing users to seamlessly save songs they find on TikTok to their preferred music streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
TikTok feels that the success of this feature solidifies them as “a critical driver of music consumption.” They also suggest that this significant increase in “repeat listening” offers valuable insight within the music industry such as “chart breakthroughs, sustained global consumption, and significant royalty generation for artists and rightsholders.”
Utilizing this data, TikTok was also able to reveal the Top 20 most-saved tracks globally via “Add to Music App” over the past 12 months.

Coming in first as the most-saved track is “Die On This Hill” by SIENNA SPIRO, with over 6 million creations and 16 billion video views. Content made with this track drew from the emotionally-charged vocals, centering around performance-led trends and creations such as memory montages. The song’s popularity was furthered by interactions from other musical artists, with covers done by P!NK and Demi Lovato, and SIENNA’s own duet with Sam Smith.
Off Tik-Tok, “Die On This Hill” gained more than 385 million streams on Spotify, and charted at #9 on the UK Official Singles Chart and #19 on the Billboard Hot 100. SIENNA SPIRO is now set to be featured on TikTok’s “Behind the Breakthrough,” the app’s documentary-style video series highlighting new emerging artists on TikTok.
Second on the list is “Raindance” by Dave (ft. Tems), which generated over 475m streams on Spotify alone and continues to climb the charts around the world. The track’s success in Dave’s home country earned it a spot at number 1 on UK charts, making Dave the UK rapper with the most No.1s this decade. Its influence spans globally, and has been a fixture on the Top 10 in Germany, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Nigeria, South Africa, The Netherlands, and more. Dave is currently touring in the US, where “Raindance” also found significant success and is now Top 50 and climbing in the Billboard Hot 100. The track also broke into Brazil’s Top 100 on Spotify, making him the first UK rapper to ever do so.
“TikTok is the starting point for music discovery on a global scale,” said Tracy Gardner, Global Head of Music Business Development, TikTok, “and ‘Add to Music App’ is turning that discovery into measurable impact for the industry.”
“Generating over 6 billion track saves—and many multiples more in streams—in a single year shows how powerful our platform is at driving music discovery among our community, and how seamlessly we are converting intent into streaming, chart success, and revenue for artists and their partners.”
