No money changed hands, the band says, and photographer Jamie Nelson keeps the copyright and the right to sell the prints.
Amy Taylor, frontwoman of the Australian punk band Amyl and the Sniffers, has settled her legal fight with Los Angeles photographer Jamie Nelson over images from a 2025 shoot, Rolling Stone Australia reports. The band says the two sides reached the settlement on Oct. 28 and the remaining claims were dismissed.
Nelson photographed Taylor for Vogue Portugal in 2025, and one of the images ran on the magazine’s July 2025 cover. Taylor sued Nelson in federal court in California on Dec. 22, 2025, saying the photographer was selling the photos as “fine art prints” without her consent and that the prints falsely suggested she endorsed them, mxdwn reported at the time. Nelson countersued for copyright infringement over the band posting the images online.
In September, Judge George H. Wu dismissed Taylor’s federal false-association claim with prejudice, meaning it can’t be refiled.
According to the band, no money changed hands. Nelson keeps the copyright and can continue selling the photos. The full terms are not public.
“All we were fighting for was Amy’s right to say no,” the band said in a statement, per Paste. Nelson said: “Art is worth defending. And artistic freedom is worth fighting for.”
