The Rolling Stones Bring 60 Years of Rock History to Roblox for New Album Launch

To celebrate the release of their 25th studio album, Foreign Tongues, The Rolling Stones hosted a star-studded launch party at London’s luxury St. Clement hotel, overlooking the River Thames. The event, attended by stars like Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, and Sam Fender, culminated in a massive light show designed by Patrick Woodroffe that illuminated the London skyline with the band’s iconic tongue-and-lips logo.

But the band isn’t just celebrating in the physical world. Timed alongside the album’s release on July 10, 2026, the rock icons have officially stepped into the metaverse with an immersive interactive experience on Roblox.

Inside the “Foreign Tongues” Roblox Experience

Developed by Roblox’s Innovation Studio alongside creative agency Sawhorse, the game is hosted in “The Block”—Roblox’s permanent entertainment venue for musical artists. The gameplay takes players on an interactive, time-traveling journey to save the history of rock and roll from a mysterious force known as “The Man”.

Shattering the Crystals: Players work together to find and break colorful crystals trapping the band’s legacy, a direct design nod to their 2023 album Hackney Diamonds.
The Era-by-Era Soundtrack: As players progress through different decades of the Stones’ 60-year career, the gameplay is soundtracked by the band’s most iconic hits from those periods.
The Ultimate Live Finale: The activation will culminate in a shared, global virtual concert from July 17 to July 19, transitioning through different musical eras every hour with dynamic visual art, lighting, and video effects.

Reimagining the Iconic “Hot Lips” Logo

The collaboration also features a major focus on creator-driven commerce. The Rolling Stones teamed up with over a dozen prominent Roblox community creators to completely redesign their world-famous tongue-and-lips logo.

These designs have been converted into exclusive virtual avatar accessories on the platform, as well as a limited-edition physical co-branded item. Using an in-game Shopify integration, players can purchase real-world merchandise directly inside the Roblox game, linking back to the band’s official web store.

Recording the New Record

The Roblox partnership lands as the Stones chase another massive chart debut following the success of Hackney Diamonds in 2023. Recorded in under a month at Metropolis Studios in West London, Foreign Tongues reunites Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood with Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt.

The album is a star-studded affair, featuring contributions from Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, alongside a special appearance from the Cure’s Robert Smith. Crucially, the record also includes a final performance from the band’s legendary late drummer, Charlie Watts, captured during his final recording sessions before his passing in 2021.
