AI’s growing influence in music production continues to accelerate as Splice and ElevenLabs have announced a new partnership focused on developing advanced music creation technology for artists and producers.
The collaboration, revealed Tuesday, will see Splice integrate ElevenLabs’ foundational audio and music-generation models into a new suite of AI-powered creative tools expected to launch later this year. The companies say the initiative is centered on helping musicians streamline and expand the creative process while maintaining a focus on ethical AI development and artist compensation.
Splice CEO Kakul Srivastava described the partnership as part of a broader shift in how artificial intelligence is being used in music creation. Rather than replacing artists, the company says its goal is to build tools that support musicians and producers throughout the creative workflow.
Meanwhile, ElevenLabs co-founder and CEO Mati Staniszewski said the company’s audio models are designed to deliver professional-grade sound suitable for commercial projects, adding that integrating the technology directly into Splice’s ecosystem could make AI-assisted music creation more accessible to everyday creators.
The announcement marks another major AI-focused move for Splice, which has steadily expanded its investment in generative music tools over the past year. In January, the platform acquired AI voice-production company Kits AI, and in late 2025, it entered a partnership with Universal Music Group aimed at building artist-focused AI music products.
Last month, Splice also introduced several AI-assisted features, including tools that generate new sounds and musical variations while compensating the original creators whose samples are used. The company currently hosts a catalog of more than three million licensed samples created by human musicians and producers.
Founded in 2013, Splice became one of the leading platforms for royalty-free samples and music collaboration, reaching a valuation of nearly $500 million in 2021. ElevenLabs, founded in 2022, initially gained attention for its AI voice-generation technology before expanding into music, dubbing, and conversational audio tools. Earlier this year, the company reportedly reached an $11 billion valuation following a major funding round.
