Live Nation
Live Nation Entertainment has strengthened its presence in Latin America through the acquisition of a majority stake in Movistar Arena Buenos Aires, one of the region’s most prominent live music and entertainment venues.
The deal marks another significant expansion for the global concert giant as it continues investing in key international markets. Located in Argentina’s capital city, the venue has emerged as a major destination for touring artists since opening in 2019, attracting millions of concertgoers and hosting hundreds of events each year.
With a capacity of approximately 15,000, Movistar Arena Buenos Aires has become a cornerstone of the South American touring circuit, regularly welcoming both global superstars and leading Latin American acts. The arena has built a reputation as one of the continent’s premier live entertainment destinations, drawing more than 2.5 million attendees annually across a diverse calendar of concerts, sporting events and special performances.
Under the new ownership structure, the venue’s existing leadership team will remain in place, with Live Nation providing strategic support while maintaining the arena’s open-access model for promoters. Company executives emphasized that the building will continue operating as a venue available to qualified promoters across the market.
Live Nation President and CEO Michael Rapino described the arena as one of Latin America’s standout venues and expressed enthusiasm about supporting its future growth. He noted the company’s commitment to helping deliver a high-quality experience for both performers and audiences.
The transaction also ensures continuity among existing stakeholders. Argentine media company La Nación, which previously held a majority position in the venue, will remain involved as a shareholder moving forward.
