Following a successful inaugural run last year, the Recording Academy has officially announced the return of Grammy House New York. The exclusive, invitation-only pop-up experience is scheduled to take over Manhattan from June 10 to 11, positioning itself as a central hub for artists, executives, and visionaries during a bustling month for the city’s music scene.
Carefully timed to align with New York Music Month, Indie Week, Black Music Month, and Pride Month, the two-day event features six distinct programs designed to foster networking, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Backed by the Academy’s DREAM Network initiative, this year’s lineup places a heavy emphasis on inclusivity, independent artistry, and mental health within the creative community.
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. emphasized the event’s core mission, stating that the curated space aims to celebrate diverse identities and bring the local music community together. The programming kicks off on Wednesday, June 10, with a “Women in the Mix” panel featuring a discussion and performance by pop artist Slayyyter. Recognizing the rapid evolution of the industry, the Academy will also host an independent artist panel tackling the intersections of advocacy and artificial intelligence, featuring perspectives from multiplatinum independent rapper Russ. Rounding out the first night is Frecuencia Latina, marking the pop-up’s first-ever dedicated Latin music showcase with performances by Snow Tha Product and others.
The momentum continues into June 11, beginning with a Black Music Collective celebration headlined by a panel and performance from Brooklyn rapper and producer Erick the Architect. Addressing the rigorous emotional demands of the business, a pivotal afternoon fireside chat presented by MusiCares will bring together Grammy-winning artist and mental health advocate Michelle Williams alongside executive Theresa Wolters to discuss wellness during the touring and creative processes. The pop-up concludes with the Out + Proud showcase, celebrating LGBTQIA+ artists with a performance by Mad Tsai, hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race star Luxx Noir London.
