On June 11, the ARIA Hall of Fame will mark its 40th anniversary with a standalone event held at Sydney’s Carriageworks and hosted by Myf Warhurst. The event continues ARIA’s 40th anniversary celebrations, in partnership with Spotify.
For the first time ever, the ceremony will be nationally televised, airing at 9:15pm local time Saturday, June 13th on ABC Entertains and ABC iview.
With Warhurst’s extensive work across radio and television, she’s become one of Australia’s most recognisable music broadcasters. She will host the evening honoring six Australian artists joining the Hall of Fame in 2026: Gurrumul, Jenny Morris, Kate Ceberano, Spiderbait, The Living End, and Vika & Linda.
“To be part of the 40th anniversary ARIA Hall of Fame is incredibly special,” Warhurst said. “These artists have shaped Australian culture, soundtracked generations and influenced how we see ourselves through music.”
The 2026 inductees will join decades of notable alumni, including You Am I, Jet, Missy Higgins, AC/DC, Molly Meldrum, Tina Arena, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, Olivia Newton John, INXS, Crowded House, Archie Roach, Human Nature and many more.
To celebrate their induction, The Living End announced a pop-up show at Mary’s Underground in Sydney on Tuesday, June 9.
“…What better way to celebrate than by playing an intimate rock show and blowing the roof off with their fans?!,” an announcement reads.
The event will feature live performances from inductees, and tributes for those being inducted posthumously.
“From the power and emotion of Gurrumul, to the energy of Spiderbait and The Living End, and the iconic voices of Kate Ceberano, Jenny Morris and Vika & Linda, this is a line-up that truly reflects the depth and brilliance of Australian music,” Warhurst said.
“It’s going to be loud, joyful and full of unforgettable moments — exactly what the Hall of Fame should be.”
The late Gurrumul’s legacy will be honored by members of his family performing Djarimirri, alongside tribute performances from Dan Sultan, Mia Wray, and Kate Miller-Heidke celebrating Jenny Morris’ catalogue.
The evening will also spotlight the prevailing influence of inductees Spiderbait, The Living End, Ceberano and Vika & Linda, with ARIA describing the event as a celebration of “nostalgia, energy and pure rock and roll spirit”.
Later this year, the 2026 ARIA Awards will take place on November 18 at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. Premiering on its largest global stage to date, the celebration of Australia’s greatest musicians will return to Channel 10 and stream live on Paramount+.
