Parmalee has officially blazed a trail to their sixth number-one single at country radio with the infectious anthem “Cowgirl.” This latest milestone isn’t just another notch on their belt; it marks their longest-running number-one to date, spending a staggering four weeks atop the Billboard Country Airplay chart and two weeks on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart.
“Cowgirl” serves as the lead single from their hit album Fell In Love With A Cowgirl, and its chart performance has rewritten the record books. Parmalee is now the only band in the last year to score a multi-week number-one on the Country Airplay charts. Even more impressively, their four-week reign on Billboard represents the longest-leading hit by a group of three or more members in nearly 14 years.
For lead singer Matt Thomas, the achievement is as surreal as it is rewarding. “Bringing in the new year with the number one song in the country is crazy,” Thomas shared. “It’s great to see the song connect with so many people and continue to grow.”
Comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas, cousin Barry Knox, and lifelong friend Josh McSwain, Parmalee has built a legacy on consistency and connection. “Cowgirl” marks their fifth consecutive number-one, following a string of fan favorites like the massive wedding anthem “Take My Name”—which was Billboard’s most-played country song of 2022.
With over 1.6 billion on-demand streams and a growing collection of platinum plaques, the North Carolina-bred band has transitioned from regional favorites to a global chart-crushing force. Their secret sauce remains their “hook-heavy” sound that resonates equally on the radio and in packed concert venues.
Fresh off their 2025 “Feels Like Home” Tour, the band is already looking forward to a busy 2026. Fans won’t have to wait long to see them live, as they have a full slate of dates kicking off in February, including stops in:
- February 19: Rutland, VT
- February 20: Foxborough, MA
- April 17: Temecula, CA
- August 28: Dieppe, Canada (YQM Countryfest)
As they tease new music with their latest track, “How Do I Let You Go,” it’s clear that Parmalee’s journey is just getting started.
