A legendary consumer technology manufacturer is formally entering the entertainment production business to fundamentally reshape its brand marketing strategy. Audio equipment manufacturer Bose has officially announced the launch of an in house media infrastructure, establishing a dedicated content platform called Bose Studios alongside a brand new independent record label named Bose Records.
According to Bose Chief Marketing Officer Jim Mollica, the high profile expansion is specifically designed to transition the company away from traditional campaign driven product advertisements toward authentic long form entertainment. The corporate initiative aims to discover and elevate emerging or underappreciated independent musical talent. To foster a highly attractive and creator friendly ecosystem, the brand will operate under a rare non restrictive legal model. The company will not assert ownership over any artist master recordings, will not claim a financial share of record sales or streaming revenue, and will allow all signed creators full freedom to negotiate separate deals with major record labels.
Instead of extracting traditional music industry profits, Bose will leverage the platform to secure global marketing rights, allowing the firm to utilize the signed talent and original music in its consumer electronics advertisements without paying expensive external licensing fees. The parent company is also commissioning original television series and feature films featuring legendary Hollywood figures, alongside an expansive roster of YouTube programs, original podcasts, and live music events.
This major creative transition expands upon the brand’s established history of high profile artist partnerships, which recently featured global campaigns with Blackpink star Lisa and a collaborative live streaming event with Grammy nominated creator PlaqueBoyMax. The media expansion also arrives immediately following the firm’s strategic acquisition of StreamUnlimited Engineering, a prominent Vienna based provider of integrated streaming software and smart home connectivity modules intended to maximize multi device coordination across the brand’s scaling audio infrastructure.
