After a period of intense creative evolution, 21-year-old independent artist Lili Alaska has officially released her latest single, “Crazy.” Dropping via G.Y.R.O., the track marks a raw and defiant comeback for the Sydney-based producer, singer, and songwriter.
The Weight of Perfection
Written during a chapter defined by perfectionism and the “quiet pressure” of young adulthood, “Crazy” is a sonically expansive pop-rock track that doesn’t shy away from the darker corners of the mind. It mirrors the exhausting tension of performing happiness while internally coming undone.
“Crazy is about feeling insane and pretending you’re not,” Lili explains. “It’s the exhaustion of constantly performing competence and happiness—to myself, to others. Writing this song was me finally admitting how easy it is to sink into darkness… and choosing instead to use it, to let it fuel me as I come back to life.”
A Total DIY Vision
What makes “Crazy” a standout in Lili’s discography is her level of technical control. For the first time, she took the reins as the sole writer, producer, and mixer. By moving away from external control and embracing instinctual, distorted guitar and swelling synths, she has reclaimed her creative voice in its purest form.
What’s Next for Lili Alaska?
The momentum isn’t slowing down. Following a high-profile sync for the Australian Survivor 2025 trailer and a collaboration with Lindy Morrison (The Go-Betweens), Lili is currently:
- Writing her debut album.
- Developing sync-focused projects with Uncanny Valley.
- Preparing for live shows, including a late-night set in Sydney on March 28 and an appearance at the Now and When festival this April.
