The merged territories, which include operations such as Spinnin’ Records, collectively represent the third largest recorded music market globally, based on IFPI trade revenue figures. WMG stated the move is a “bold step” designed to find more impactful ways to invest in artists and help them reach larger global audiences.
Niels Walboomers, who has led Warner’s Benelux recorded music and publishing operations since 2023, has been appointed President of the expanded six-country region. Walboomers will split his time between the Amsterdam, Berlin, and Hamburg offices and report to Simon Robson, President, EMEA, Recorded Music. He will be supported by Chief Business Officer Markus Holzherr.
Co-Presidents Doreen Schimk and Fabian Drebes are stepping down after four years in the role, pursuing new projects. In a joint statement, they expressed confidence that the expanded region is “well placed for its next chapter.” Walboomers emphasized the strategic importance of the consolidation: “The newly combined weight of these six countries make this one of the most influential territories in the Warner Music ecosystem.”
