Howard Stern’s Hilarious Return to Radio
The King of All Media is back on air and he came back with a bang. Howard Stern returned from his summer break with a classic prank, quickly putting an end to the rumors that had been swirling for weeks.
Shutting Down the Speculation
On air, Stern was quick to address the whirlwind of rumors that have followed him since his long break. The radio legend, who delayed his return for a week, confirmed there is “zero truth” to any reports of him being fired from SiriusXM. Stern said his true reason for the delay was a serious cold that left him with no voice, joking he even told his wife at one point that he thought he was dying. He lamented the wave of texts and media reports asking if he was okay because he’d been fired, calling the gossip “a d–k thing.”
Stern specifically addressed reports that he was “too woke” or being pushed out for younger podcasters. He called the speculation completely false and noted that SiriusXM employs a wide range of people with different viewpoints. He stressed that his relationship with the satellite radio giant is “fantastic” and that they are in ongoing talks about the future of the show.
The Last Laugh
Stern’s return was a masterclass in radio theater, but it also had a serious undertone. He admitted he’d been considering retirement lately, but said he can no longer do so because of the false reports. “Now I can’t because then they’ll say I got pushed out, so I’ll be back. F–k you.” It’s clear that despite the noise, Howard Stern is still in control of his show, and his future.
