Ketchup Entertainment has acquired domestic distribution rights to Rolling Loud, a comedy film produced by Live Nation Studios and American High that draws directly from the energy and cultural reach of the world’s largest hip-hop festival. Set for a nationwide theatrical release on September 18, the film will open in more than 2,000 theaters across the United States, positioning itself as a major event-driven release for music- and culture-focused audiences.
A Festival-Born Film with Real Cultural Access
At its core, Rolling Loud is built on authenticity. Produced by Live Nation Studios in collaboration with American High, the project draws from unmatched access to artists, live events, and contemporary music culture. Written and directed by Jeremy Garelick, the film is set against the backdrop of Rolling Loud, which has grown into a global cultural force hosting sold-out events across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. That global footprint, spanning cities from Miami and Los Angeles to Portugal, Germany, Thailand, and India, informs the film’s scale and tone, capturing the chaos, humor, and shared experiences that define modern festival culture.
A Cast Bridging Hollywood and Hip-Hop
The film’s cast reflects its crossover ambitions. Rolling Loud stars Owen Wilson and Matt Rife, alongside appearances from major figures in contemporary hip-hop, including Ty Dolla $ign, Sexyy Red, and Ski Mask The Slump God. Supporting performances from Henry Winkler, Christine Ko, Christian Convery, and Jolene round out a multi-generational ensemble designed to appeal to both mainstream moviegoers and music fans.

For Ketchup Entertainment, the acquisition reinforces a strategy centered on culturally relevant, audience-forward theatrical releases. CEO Gareth West described Rolling Loud as “a bold, unapologetic comedy with real cultural credibility,” positioning it as a true event film that connects music culture and cinema. Ryan Kroft, Head of Film & TV at Live Nation Studios, emphasized festivals as one of today’s most powerful cultural engines, noting that the film brings the live-music pulse off the stage and into theaters. Rolling Loud co-founder Matt Zingler framed the project as a celebration of the community, creativity, and unpredictability that define the festival experience.
Opening nationwide on September 18, Rolling Loud represents more than a standard comedy release. With real-world festival roots, global cultural influence, and a star-driven cast, the film highlights how hip-hop and live music continue to shape mainstream cinema — and how event-driven theatrical releases can resonate with younger, music-focused audiences.
