Reservoir Media delivered strong fiscal Q2 2026 results, covering calendar Q3 2025. The New York-based company earned $45.4 million in revenue, a 12% year-over-year increase. Organic growth reached 7% when excluding acquisitions.
Landmark Acquisition
The quarter’s highlight was Reservoir’s purchase of jazz legend Miles Davis’ publishing catalog. The deal, valued between $40–$60 million, includes Davis’ publishing rights, recording income, and shared rights to his name and likeness. Founder and CEO Golnar Khosrowshahi called the acquisition a milestone. She said, “We are honored to partner with his estate ahead of his centennial year in 2026 to collaborate on unique value enhancement opportunities and share his legacy with the next generation across platforms.”
Reservoir also expanded its portfolio through several new deals. The company extended its publishing agreement for Nick Drake’s catalog. It partnered with Blue Raincoat Music Publishing to represent Molly Drake’s works. Furthermore, Reservoir teamed with PopArabia to secure catalogs from Iraqi production house HFM Production and Kuwaiti singer-songwriter Essa Almarzoug. It also signed Moroccan artist 88 Young. Moreover, the company added Platinum-selling songwriter Emily Reid, Grammy-nominated producer Dave Pittenger, and 1960s teen idol Bobby Vinton to its roster.
Publishing & Recorded Music Growth
Financial performance showed strength across segments. Publishing revenue rose 8% to $30.9 million. Recorded music surged 21% to $13 million. Digital revenue growth came from catalog acquisitions and streaming demand. CFO Jim Heindlmeyer emphasized discipline, stating, “Our financial performance emphasizes our ability to drive value from our existing portfolio and consistently identify high-quality, high-demand assets with attractive economics.” As a result, Reservoir raised its fiscal 2026 guidance to $167–$170 million in revenue and $70–$72 million in adjusted EBITDA.
Reservoir Media’s Q2 results highlight a company combining financial growth with cultural stewardship. By investing in iconic catalogs like Miles Davis and expanding into global markets, Reservoir is positioning itself as a leader in sustainable growth. At the same time, it is preserving musical legacies for future generations.
