Los Angeles, California (May 12, 2025)– Reba McEntire is making her grand return to The Voice. NBC confirmed on Monday, May 12, that the country music legend will be back in the red chair for season 28, set to premiere this fall. She’ll be reuniting with her fellow season 27 coaches: crooner Michael Bublé, rap icon Snoop Dogg, and pop star Niall Horan. The returning lineup promises a familiar mix of talent and chemistry as they gear up to mentor a fresh group of aspiring vocalists.
This marks McEntire’s fourth time serving as a coach on the hit competition series. She first joined in season 24, which aired in 2023, alongside Horan, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend. It didn’t take long for her to prove she was a natural in the role. Just one season later, she led her artist Asher HaVon to victory in season 25, beating out a competitive field that included fellow Team Reba singer Josh Sanders, Team Legend’s Bryan Olesen and Nathan Chester, and Karen Waldrup from Team Dan + Shay. That win put McEntire in an elite category of coaches who’ve claimed a victory early in their Voice tenure.
Though she stepped away after season 26, McEntire didn’t slow down. She kept her schedule full with a mix of music and TV. Earlier this month, she released the powerhouse collaboration “Trailblazer” with Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert, a track celebrating women who break boundaries in country music. She also returned as host of the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards, marking her 18th time leading the ceremony — a tradition that dates all the way back to 1985.
Away from the stage and studio, McEntire is also making waves in the world of television. Her NBC sitcom Happy’s Place, in which she stars and serves as executive producer, was renewed for a second season back in February. Balancing comedy with country roots, the show has given her fans yet another way to connect with the star outside of her music career.
As McEntire gears up for her return to The Voice, the show is currently in the thick of season 27. The live semifinals kick off Monday night, with each coach’s team narrowed down to just two contestants. The season also marks the highly anticipated return of original coach Adam Levine, back for the first time since season 16.
With Reba back in the mix, expectations are high for season 28. Her coaching style — a blend of warmth, humor, and sharp instincts — has made her a fan favorite. Add in the dynamic energy of Bublé, the unpredictability of Snoop Dogg, and the charisma of Horan, and it’s clear that next season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet. Whether she’s mentoring powerhouse vocalists, cracking jokes on set, or chasing another win, McEntire’s return ensures The Voice will be must-watch TV this fall.
