Over a Decade in Waiting
On September 17, Disney Branded Television officially announced that “Camp Rock 3,” the latest sequel to the iconic franchise after 15 years of waiting, was greenlit and set to begin filming in Vancouver this week.
Nostalgic Returns and New Faces
The film is being executive produced by Disney Channel alumni Demi Lovato along with Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas, who are double tasking by reprising their roles as the band Connect 3 from the two previous entries in the franchise. Maria Canals-Barrera (“Wizards of Waverly Place”) will also reprise her role, and Sherry Cola (“Joyride”) will step in as a new character, Lark.
The older cast members will take a backseat to the new generation of Disney stars set to take over the series, including Liamani Segura (“Descendants: Wicked Wonderland”) as Sage, Malachi Barton (“ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires”) as Fletch, Lumi Pollack (“Electric Bloom”) as Rosie, Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter (“The Thundermans”) as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie, and Ava Jean as Madison.
An Iconic Steppingstone
“‘Camp Rock’ is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day,” Ayo Davis, the president of Disney Branded Television, said about the chart-topping franchise. “Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can’t wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation.”
Filming Now
“Camp Rock 3” will be coming soon to Disney+ and Disney Channel.
