Vobile has announced the release of its AI Song Detector, a real-time solution designed to help Digital Service Providers (DSPs), music distributors, and collecting societies accurately identify AI-generated music. This new technology directly addresses the growing need to distinguish between content created by humans and content generated entirely by artificial intelligence.
Streaming platforms are currently grappling with an overwhelming influx of content, reporting that tens of thousands of fully AI-generated tracks are being uploaded daily. This volume impacts content integrity and copyright adherence across the ecosystem.
Industry Response and Copyright Stance
Collecting societies are beginning to draw clear lines on eligibility for registration. Organizations like ASCAP, BMI, and SOCAN have stated that musical works created entirely using AI tools are not eligible for registration. However, they will begin accepting registrations for partially AI-generated works.
Vobile’s Executive Vice President and Head of Music Business, Amadea Choplin, emphasized the need for trust in this new era: “AI is unlocking incredible new avenues for human creativity, but that potential must be built on a foundation of fairness and trust. Our AI Song Detector acts as a safeguard, ensuring that we can foster this new era of music creation while maintaining the integrity of copyright.”
Technology and Performance
The Vobile AI Song Detector sets a new standard for content protection by offering industry-leading identification technologies. It analyzes content using multiple layers of detection:
- Audio
- Melody
- Phonetics
- Voice
In comprehensive testing, the solution demonstrated superior performance across key metrics, achieving higher accuracy and true positive results. This ensures AI-generated songs are correctly identified, providing the objective data necessary to protect copyright value and enable human artists to thrive in the streaming landscape.
