
Lady Gaga Leads the Night
With four awards, Lady Gaga was the most-awarded artist of the night. Her wins include the coveted Artist of the Year, as well as Best Direction and Best Art Direction. Additionally, her hit collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” won Best Collaboration.
Other Major Winners
The night also saw other artists shine with multiple victories. Ariana Grande took home three trophies, including Video of the Year and Best Long-Form Video for her track “Brighter Days Ahead,” and Best Pop. Sabrina Carpenter also had a memorable night with three awards, winning Pop Artist, Album of the Year for Short n’ Sweet, and Best Visual Effects for “Manchild.”
The Power of Global Collaborations
International collaborations were also a highlight. ROSÉ and Bruno Mars won Song of the Year for their hit “APT.,” while ROSÉ’s bandmate, LISA of BLACKPINK, took home the Best K-pop award for her collaboration with Doja Cat and RAYE on “Born Again.”
Honors for Music Legends
The ceremony also paid tribute to the careers of several music legends:
- Mariah Carey was honored with the Video Vanguard Award.
- Ricky Martin received the first-ever Latin Icon Award at the VMAs.
- Busta Rhymes was recognized with the Rock the Bells Visionary Award.
Each of them celebrated the honor with a medley of their biggest hits, delighting the audience and their fellow artists.
