Los Angeles, California (August 13, 2025)- After breaking records in her home country, Mexican pop superstar Kenia OS is making her U.S. theatrical debut with KENIA OS: LA OG, a dazzling cinematic production that captures the energy and artistic vision of the new queen of Latin pop. The film will premiere in Los Angeles on August 29, with screenings to follow in other major cities across the country, including Miami, New York, and Chicago.
Produced by Sony Music Entertainment Mexico and distributed in the United States by Spanglish Movies, the film offers an intimate look at Kenia OS’s emotional journey before, during, and after her two spectacular, sold-out shows at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes. The film, which has a runtime of 100 minutes and is rated PG-13, goes beyond the typical concert experience. It is an authentic portrait of the tireless work, intense rehearsals, and passion that fuel her career, while also highlighting her deep connection with her fans. Co-directed by Ana Nube, Gastón Etchechoury, and Kenia OS herself, the film celebrates the power of an artist who has successfully built her own universe.
This premiere marks her second film venture, following the success of Universo K23, which was nominated for a Latin GRAMMY and acclaimed at the Cannes World Film Festival and Berlin Indie Film Festival. KENIA OS: LA OG has already been a box-office phenomenon in Mexico, surpassing other films in its pre-sale success. This cinematic expansion reaffirms Kenia OS’s artistic vision and solidifies her legacy beyond just music.
Kenia OS, a singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, is considered one of the leading female artists of the new generation of Latin pop. She began her career as a YouTube content creator before pivoting to music in 2018. Her style blends pop, urban, and electronic influences with empowering lyrics, making her a key voice for Gen Z. With over 24 million followers on TikTok and 18 million on Instagram, she is a contemporary Latin pop icon who continues to make a monumental impact.
U.S. premieres will take place in Los Angeles on August 29 and in Miami starting September 5.
