A New Golden Era
Junior Zamora dropped a Latin Afrobeat R&B single on September 4 titled “Sagitario,” with a gold-coated aesthetic and an old money music video.
While the Colombian artist intends for the track, and the upcoming EP “Un Verano en Caliyork” which it and two more upcoming tracks tease, to mark a new, more mature era in his career, he also keeps some of the influence and romanticism of his older tracks, such as “Dime qué te parece” and “Ojos Perdidos.” It continues his exploration of themes of genuine love with a chill, refined, and danceable “Afro R&B” backdrop.
Old Money, Old Patterns
“’Sagitario’ is a song about dance and dedication, about nurturing love, but also about the things we search for in relationships,” Junior Zamora said. “How we repeat patterns that might harm us, or how we continue to seek the things that do us good. It’s about how the beautiful and the warm come together in one single idea.”

These themes of repetition are showcased in the music video, which features Junior Zamora’s character from a previous album, Joyas del Barrio, Jay, and introduces the aesthetic of the new album. “The intention is to showcase old money, but without losing Jay’s maximalism and his style, without losing his identity,” Junior Zamora said. “The main concept of the whole EP is Jay’s search for repetition—he is seeking patterns in his relationships, and that is what frames the visual concept.” In the new project, as his alter ego ventures out into a new world, he stays committed to his old accessories and culture, just like the artist who plays him, who has begun his professional journey into new countries like the United States. While some patterns can be powerful and meaningful in a person’s life and experience of love, tracks like “Sagitario” also showcase how repeating some old patterns can be harmful.
