Setting Sails for the States
On September 19, Grupo Niche and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico announced that their worldwide “Salsa Pa’l Mundo” Tour would take its next steps in the United States, with new concerts announced across the country from October to December. Additionally, the groups announced two new special guests that would open for them for the American leg of the tour in select cities: DJ Alex Sensation and salsa singer Eddie Santiago.
A Celebration of Hits Known Worldwide
The two salsa giants began the tour with the intention of bringing a celebration of the genre and all the nostalgia it brings to a world scale, performing greatest hits known worldwide like “Cali Pachanguero,” “Una Aventura,” “Gotas de Lluvia,” “Brujería,” and “Un Verano en Nueva York.” The two orchestras are some of the most skilled and well-known representatives of the genre, with their modern counterparts based on years of legacy.
Special Guests
Meanwhile, the groups decided to recruit the two new additions to the lineup for their own legacies. Alex Sensation shows a more modern side of the genre by fusing salsa with reggaeton and Latin urban songs in his sets across America, and Eddie Santiago has built his own romantic salsa discography with hits like “Lluvia” and “Qué Locura Enamorarme de Ti.” With a lineup whose very lives are so deeply tied to the salsa genre, the tour promises to bring nights and rhythms that will be impossible to forget.
