The air crackles with anticipation, a palpable energy that only live entertainment can ignite. In Inglewood, California – a new generation of visionaries is not just witnessing but actively architecting the future of these monumental experiences. A leader in this charge, with a blend of hard-won experience and infectious enthusiasm, is Alex Gigliotti, Director of Programming & Event Booking at the immense Hollywood Park, a world-renowned destination encompassing the likes of SoFi Stadium and YouTube Theater. RYM Magazine sat down with Alex for an exclusive look into her remarkable journey, which has grown in tandem with the astronomic rise of this entertainment epicenter.
Her involvement began before Hollywood Park was the polished landmark it is today. “Joining ahead of the building being open, and when we were in an active construction project was amazing,” she shares, her voice still tinged with the excitement of that period, “because we got to give tours throughout the building as it was coming to be, as we were opening the building”. This wasn’t just a job; it was being part of a legacy in the making.
Gigliotti has been an integral force, witnessing and contributing to Hollywood Park’s evolution from a construction site buzzing with potential to a global stage. The scale of Hollywood Park is staggering, a “city within a city” designed to immerse visitors. For Alex, this meant growing alongside the venue, her personal trajectory mirroring Hollywood Park’s own path from blueprint to breathtaking reality.

As Hollywood Park found its footing, so too did Alex Gigliotti, her role expanding organically with the venue’s capabilities. “When we were opening the building… we all were getting our legs under us, figuring out our processes and procedures and figuring out how to manage multiple venues coming online,” she explains, painting a picture of a team learning and innovating in real-time. Her initial responsibilities were foundational: “my role kind of transformed from managing the calendar and placing holds to eventually negotiating deals and bringing in business on my own”. This evolution wasn’t just about expanded duties; it was about a deepening passion. “And now I love working with all of our promoters and working on events large and small across the campus,” she states, the genuine affection for her work evident.
Managing a multi-venue campus like Hollywood Park, is an inherently dynamic undertaking. Gigliotti acknowledges the work can be “very time consuming and especially ever changing”, yet it’s this constant flux and the opportunity to work across such a varied portfolio of spaces that clearly invigorates her. She isn’t merely booking events; she’s instrumental in defining the vibrant pulse of a landmark. This significant responsibility has grown with each successful concert, festival, and unique gathering hosted on the grounds. Her journey is a parallel narrative to Hollywood Park’s own story of growth, each milestone for the venue marking a new chapter in her professional development and building a quiet confidence rooted in hands-on experience and a clear love for the intricate dance of live event programming.
Navigating the launch of a global entertainment hub, especially with the unprecedented challenge of the pandemic, required an extraordinary level of adaptability from Gigliotti and her team. “Because we opened during the pandemic, we got to do a bunch of different sized events,” she reflects, “so being able to see how our venues work in different configurations, and then also being able to see how we can use our site differently across our different spaces… allowing us to envision our venues in many different ways”. For Alex, this period of intense learning underscored a core principle: “experimentation was definitely key”.
