LOS ANGELES — Yungblud has released a live recording of his cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” a song originally from the band’s 1972 album, Vol. 4. The performance was captured at the rock legends’ farewell concert, “Back to the Beginning,” which took place on July 5 in Birmingham, England. The single’s release coincides with Yungblud’s current North American tour.
The performance was a key part of the farewell event at Villa Park, which was attended by over 40,000 fans. The concert served as a charity event and was described as the highest-grossing benefit concert in history. For the song, Yungblud was joined by an all-star lineup including Nuno Bettencourt of the band Extreme, Frank Bello of Anthrax, Adam Wakeman from Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band, and II of Sleep Token.
According to a press release, all proceeds from the track will be donated to several important causes. The charities include Cure Parkinson’s, which focuses on finding a cure for the disease, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Speaking about the performance, Yungblud stated, “This was, without a doubt, the biggest moment of my entire life… The best part of this release is that we can take such a monumental moment, immortalize it on tape, release it, and donate all the money to such important causes.”
In a video shared online, Yungblud was seen giving Ozzy Osbourne a personalized piece of jewelry before the concert. Osbourne commented on the performance, saying, “He did a bloody amazing job. I couldn’t have done it better myself.”
The “Back to the Beginning” concert was musically directed by Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and also featured performances by Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Metallica, and Pantera.
Mercury Studios has announced that a full-length concert film, “Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow,” is currently in production and is scheduled for a theatrical debut in early 2026.
Yungblud’s 16-date North American tour, which has been sold out, is set to begin on August 23 in Los Angeles.
