Los Angeles, California (June 2, 2025)- Rock powerhouses collide as GRAMMY® Award-winning band Evanescence and genre-bending alt-rock artist K.Flay unite for the first time on their explosive new track “Fight Like A Girl,” released via BMG. The adrenaline-charged single debuts as the end title song for Ballerina, the highly anticipated action-thriller set in the John Wick universe, premiering June 6.
Co-written by Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee, K.Flay, Dylan Eiland, and Ballerina composer Tyler Bates—who also produced the track—“Fight Like A Girl” captures the film’s fierce energy and emotional core. With soaring vocals from Lee and K.Flay’s raw, punchy verse, the track is a sonic embodiment of vengeance, resilience, and self-liberation. It follows “Hand That Feeds,” a powerful collaboration between Halsey and Amy Lee released earlier in May, also featured on the film’s soundtrack.
Set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina stars Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a young assassin in training with the Ruska Roma. The film also features performances by Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves. Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, Ballerina explores the cost of revenge with high-octane action and emotional depth, providing the perfect narrative backdrop for this powerful anthem.
Amy Lee shared that the timing of the collaboration was serendipitous. “Tyler calling me up to create this song for Ballerina couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I know I’m not the only girl out there ready to dig my heels in and show the world what we’re made of. I really wanted this song to be a collab, and K.Flay is one of my favorite artists. It is literally a dream come true to do this together!”
K.Flay echoed her excitement, saying, “Amy sent me the demo and I was immediately so energized, so inspired. I was on tour at the time, and I wrote my verse backstage after a show, when my adrenaline was still super high. For me, the film and the song are both about how we channel our pain and how we choose to define ourselves. What separates the hero from the villain?”
The release of “Fight Like A Girl” comes at a landmark moment for Evanescence, who continue to thrive more than two decades after their groundbreaking debut. In 2003, their album Fallen defied industry expectations, powered by cinematic rock anthems like “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal.” The record became one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century and earned the band two GRAMMYs® and five total nominations. Their latest success, “Afterlife,” featured in the Netflix series Devil May Cry, is already the fastest-rising single of their career, with over 20 million streams and 10 million YouTube views in just a few weeks.
Evanescence is set to hit the road again this fall with performances on the My Chemical Romance: Black Parade tour, the Louder Than Life Festival, and a string of stadium shows alongside Metallica in Australia and New Zealand. Their current lineup includes Amy Lee (vocals, keyboards), Tim McCord (guitar/bass), Will Hunt (drums), Troy McLawhorn (guitars), and Emma Anzai (bass, backing vocals).
K.Flay, known for her genre-defying sound and unfiltered lyrical style, brings a fresh, fearless perspective to the track. The Illinois native, now based in Los Angeles, has built an impressive catalog, including the GRAMMY-nominated single “Blood in the Cut” and collaborations with artists like Tom Morello, Imagine Dragons, Mike Shinoda, and Fitz and the Tantrums. Her most recent album, MONO, marked a new era following her sudden hearing loss in one ear—an experience that profoundly shaped her songwriting and artistry.
With more than a billion global streams and over 100,000 tickets sold, K.Flay continues to expand the boundaries of modern alternative music. Her partnership with Amy Lee on “Fight Like A Girl” not only bridges two unique voices in rock but also delivers a message of unapologetic strength and personal transformation.
“Fight Like A Girl” is now available on all streaming platforms. Ballerina premieres June 6 in theaters and digital formats. For more details on the artists and upcoming tour dates, visit evanescence.com and kflay.com.
