The song, released on October 13, 2025, centers on a universal question: is it better to forget to avoid pain, or to remember despite the suffering? The lyrics portray a traveler who avoids emotional ties to protect themselves from hurt.
Meier commented on the genre blend: “Folk has always been a constant influence in my work, but in recent years I discovered polka norteña, and this genre became a new passion for me… the mix of both styles emerged naturally from the very first moment.”
“Nací Para Olvidar” was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Gustavo Borner, featuring notable musicians like Gregg Bissonette (drums) and Dean Parks (pedal steel). Meier also directed the accompanying music video, a single-take short film that acts as the second chapter in a five-part narrative for the new album. This release reaffirms that Meier’s new body of work will be a varied and honest journey across multiple styles.
