Multi-platinum artist Chris Young is gearing up for one of the biggest weeks of his career with the release of his ambitious tenth studio album, I Didn’t Come Here To Leave, on October 17. This album marks a significant new chapter for the global entertainer, as it’s his first with Black River Entertainment. Young, praised by Country Now as having “cemented himself as one of the genre’s most recognizable talents,” promises a deeply personal and complete cross-section of his artistry, with 11 co-writes and a return to his “baritone roots.” The title itself seems to echo his sentiment: “It’s wild to step back and see a really long list of things I’ve gotten to do already. … But I didn’t come here to leave.”
A Monumental Release Day
The album’s launch coincides perfectly with the 8th anniversary of Young’s induction into the Grand Ole Opry, making October 17 a monumental date for the star. The celebratory week is packed with events, including a free album release show for fans at Loser’s in Nashville on October 16. That same day, the new music video for the energetic track “Boots On The Ground” will debut in rotation on CMT Channels. Fans in New York City can even catch the video on October 17 as it’s featured on Paramount’s Times Square Billboard. The following day, Young is set to headline “Boots In The Park” in Tucson, AZ.

National TV & Rising Singles
His promotional blitz continues into the following week when he’ll perform “Boots On The Ground” live on October 21 during an appearance on Live with Kelly & Mark. Young first teased the project with the single “Til The Last One Dies,” which iHeartCountry called “romantic, wedding-worthy,” showcasing the balance of good-timing energy and “graceful grit” found across the album’s 14 tracks. The prolific hitmaker has been actively involved, co-producing the work alongside Andy Sheridan.
With 14 No. 1 singles and over 9 Billion streams already to his name, Chris Young is clearly not slowing down. In addition to the album release, he also announced his first-ever holiday run: the “It Must Be Christmas – An Acoustic Evening with Chris Young” tour launching next month with special guest MaRynn Taylor. Make sure to pre-save/add I Didn’t Come Here To Leave now and grab your tickets for the holiday tour to witness the next act of this country powerhouse!
