The Recording Academy and CBS have announced the all-star lineup for “A GRAMMY Celebration of Latin Music,”a new televised special set to air on Sunday, Dec. 28 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The two-hour event will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
The evening, which highlights Latin music’s lasting impact and widespread influence in the United States, will be co-hosted by “NCIS” star Wilmer Valderrama and singer-songwriter/actress Roselyn Sánchez. Their roles will guide the audience through an evening of music that includes fresh covers of classic songs, heartfelt tributes to various Latin artists, and performances of top contemporary hits.
An Unprecedented Cross-Genre Lineup
The special’s unique power lies in its incredibly diverse lineup, featuring performances from artists across multiple musical genres. Expected Latin superstars like Gloria Estefan, Luis Fonsi, and Prince Royce will anchor the show. However, the program extends its reach with an impressive cross-genre roster, including classical vocalist Andrea Bocelli, Canadian crooner Michael Bublé, and country star Maren Morris.
Adding to the genre fusion, rock legend Billy Idol will perform with his band The Warning and Steve Stevens, alongside other artists such as Ángela Aguilar, Carín León, and Laura Pausini. The special will also feature a unique performance from the cast of Broadway’s “Buena Vista Social Club.”
Icons and Influencers
In addition to the musical performances, the program features insightful interviews and appearances by some of the biggest icons in Latin music, film, and culture. Confirmed appearances include global superstar Daddy Yankee, legendary musician Carlos Santana, and actress Rita Moreno.
Also appearing throughout the evening are award-winning creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, actor John Leguizamo, and music executive Emilio Estefan. These segments aim to provide context and background, emphasizing the crucial role Latin artists and professionals play in shaping the global music landscape. The special was taped in Miami and is being executive produced by José Tillán and Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr.
