An Inspired Meeting:
Musgraves first discovered León through his NPR Tiny Desk performance and was immediately impressed. Raised in Texas, she has long held a deep curiosity and respect for Mexican music. León, known for blending traditional regional Mexican music with modern storytelling, wanted to resonate with U.S. country fans. When they met in Nashville, the chemistry between them was instant.
Creating the Duet:
Produced by Julián Bunetta, the duet features vibrant horns and rhythmic backing from León’s band, with their voices complementing each other. The result is a nostalgic track that nods to classic Mexican duets while offering something fresh. Musgraves says, “Even though we speak different languages, we’re all the same.” León adds, “I’m so blessed to be working with Kacey. All good stuff is going to come.”
