A Classic Cover
On September 12, Banda La Costeña will release their newest single, a cover of the tragic “Amor Fingido.”
Regional Re-Interpretation
The release will mark the first time a band from Sinaloa has covered the technobanda Grupo Laberinto song, adding the region’s twist to the sad ranchera tune. The band also has many new projects in the pipeline set to follow the cover, including a second cover, this time of Pequeños Musical’s “Voy a Danzar,” and after that, the second volume of their 75th anniversary EP featuring Carlos Sarabia and Banda Tierra Sagrada.

Band Celebrates Their 75th Anniversary
The band is among many of the oldest and most famous traditional regional bands of Sinaloa, celebrating their birthday with new singles and duets around the same time as the 60-year-old La Banda Original El Limón celebrates theirs with a tour. After such a long and prolific career, Banda La Costeña has cemented themselves as part of the region’s musical legacy, and showed how dedicated they are to the practice of preservation and the joy of new interpretations.

Coming Soon
“Amor Fingido” will release on digital platforms on September 12, and their upcoming singles and 75th anniversary EP are still to come after.
