BamBam, the Thai-born K-pop artist who rose to global fame with GOT7, is entering a new chapter with HOMETOWN, his first full Thai-language album. Released on October 10, the project marks a personal milestone. It blends his international success with a heartfelt tribute to his origins in Bangkok.
Inspired by a Moment, Rooted in Culture
The idea for HOMETOWN came during a drive to Rajamangala Stadium for the encore of his solo AREA 52 tour. Passing through the neighborhood where he was born, BamBam felt a wave of clarity. “From that moment on, I already knew the album would be called HOMETOWN,” he said. The five-track album features collaborations with Thai artists like TIMETHAI, Jeff Satur, and INK WARUNTORN. Pharrell Williams also produced the single “Angel in Disguise.” The music video for “WONDERING” evokes the warmth of Thai night markets and everyday scenes. BamBam explained, “I wanted to express the life of real Thai people, and how we see our own country.”

Global Influence, Local Pride
Beyond music, BamBam’s influence spans fashion and sports. He became the first K-pop artist to serve as a global ambassador for the Golden State Warriors. He also earned recognition as a House Ambassador for Louis Vuitton. In 2022, he performed at the NBA Halftime Show during the Warriors vs. Lakers game. More recently, he joined John Legend, Andrea Bocelli, and Karol G at the Vatican’s ‘Grace for the World’ concert. “Meeting and shaking hands with Pope Leo XIV — I mean, when would I ever get to experience something like that again?” he said.
Although BamBam has spent more years in Korea than Thailand, he still feels deeply connected to both. “If Thailand is my hometown, then Korea is the place that raised me,” he reflected. His commitment to K-pop remains strong. “To me, K-pop represents the ‘beginner’s mindset’ — staying true to your beginnings.”
HOMETOWN is more than an album. It’s a reflection of BamBam’s identity, growth, and gratitude. For fans old and new, it’s a reminder that no matter how far you go, your roots remain part of your rhythm.
