Ballet Hispánico, the nation’s premier Latino dance organization, has officially opened the call for its annual company auditions for the upcoming 2026/27 Season. As a cornerstone of American culture for over five decades, the company is searching for world-class talent to join its ranks in New York City. This is a rare opportunity for professional dancers to become part of a legacy that has commissioned over 100 original works and is recognized by the Ford Foundation as one of “America’s Cultural Treasures.”
The Life of a Ballet Hispánico Dancer
Joining the company means stepping onto some of the world’s most prestigious stages. Dancers are not only performers but cultural ambassadors, participating in national and international tours that bring the vibrancy of Latino cultures to global audiences. Beyond the stage, company members are integral to community engagement programs, using dance as a tool for education and social connection.
Those selected for the 2026/27 season will be offered a 26-week contract and will be required to join the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA). For those ready to commit to artistic excellence, the role offers a dynamic balance of classical precision and contemporary innovation.
Audition Requirements and Professional Standards
Because of the high technical demands of the repertory, Ballet Hispánico is looking for dancers with a mastery of classical ballet technique who are equally comfortable in contemporary and neo-classical styles. To be considered, applicants must have at least three years of professional experience with a recognized dance company.
The audition process is by invitation only. Interested dancers must submit their materials via the official registration portal by February 12, 2026. If invited, the in-person audition will take place on February 14, 2026, in New York City. Dancers should come prepared with pointe shoes, ballet shoes, character heels, and socks to showcase their versatility across the company’s diverse repertoire.
