Los Angeles, California (August 5, 2025)- Rising country superstar Alexandra Kay has officially announced that her highly anticipated sophomore album, “Second Wind,” is set to be released on October 24. The album, which weaves together themes of heartbreak, hope, and healing, embodies what Pandora has called her “lover-girl era.” The project has already generated significant buzz among her 8.6 million social media followers with fan-favorite standouts like “Feminine Energy,” “The Last,” and “Cupid’s A Cowgirl.”
Kay’s debut album, All I’ve Ever Known, was a raw chronicle born from personal heartbreak. Her new project, Second Wind, marks a powerful revival, breathing new life into her story. The album finds her heart not only healed but “shining brighter than ever,” with a magnetic and glowing sense of possibility. Produced by Andrew DeRoberts, the 14-track album features Kay as a co-writer on all but two songs. It includes the charged-up new anthem, “Straight For The Heart,” which is described as a “soul-baring and career-defining project.”
To celebrate the release, Kay will embark on her third headlining tour of the year, “Second Wind: The Tour,” which will span 30 nationwide dates. The tour kicks off on September 26 in Atlanta and will hit major cities like Nashville on September 28, Boston on October 4, and Las Vegas on November 6, before concluding in Milwaukee on November 16. Tickets for all dates go on public sale this Friday, August 8, at 10 a.m. local time. Ahead of the tour, Kay is also scheduled to perform her hit single “How Do You Miss Me” with Dallas Smith at the Canadian Country Music Awards on September 13.
“I’m so ready to share these songs with the people who have been with me every step of the way,” Kay shared. “This album reflects a new side of me, and I can’t wait for my fans to experience it live — especially the happier songs that I’m hoping they’ll be screaming right back at me from the crowd.”
Kay’s career, now signed to BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, has been on a remarkable trajectory. Her journey began with her viral “Coffee Covers” on social media, which earned her millions of views and the attention of country legends. This year, she also added “entrepreneur” to her list of accolades with the launch of her own coffee shop, The Coffee Girl, in her hometown of Waterloo, Illinois. With her debut hitting #1 on the iTunes All Genre and Country charts, and her recognition from outlets like Pandora and CMT, Kay is poised to take her career to the next level with this upcoming album and tour.
